Textile Studio Patterns Basic Top + McCalls 6996 = A Great Twinset
Hello all, A few days ago, I ventured to my local Fabricland for some buttons to complete my green linen shirt that I wrote about here. “Buttons only!”, I said to myself as I drove there. And then, “It’s like two cardigans and a top for $100”, was the justification for the cuts of fabric laying on my back seat as I drove home again. But can you blame me? Just look at this lovely knit.

Sunday Power Sewing and Stash Busting – New Look 6838
Hello all, Down in my sewing room, I have three Rubbermaid totes full of fabric along with several bags of additional yardage piled on top, tucked in to drawers and hanging in closets. Now, I know that some of you will read that and say “Pfft…what a Rookie!” however the disorganization of it is what is bothering me, more than the quantity. I stopped myself from going out to buy an additional tote with the intent that I am going to figure out a better system. Please feel free to let me know of any ideas you may have.

Hello all, A few years ago, McCalls put out M2401 which on the surface is a run of the mill sheath pattern. A front, cut on the fold with darts at the bust and down the abdomen, two darted back pieces, and sleeves…or not. Where the clever folks at McCalls really did us a good turn was with the number of options and combinations that they put into the one envelope. Have a look:
