McCalls 6750 – Palmer/Pletsch – A Crisp White Shirt
Hello all, A number of years ago, I focussed my sewing on wardrobe builders; items which are considered basics and which will mix and match not only with each other, but also with what I already had in my closet. I did this for a year and really built up a solid wardrobe of very wearable items.

Vogue – V1663 – Misses Jacket
Hello all, I just finished the sweater/jacket portion of Vogue V1663 as part of a sew along through one of my online groups. The Vogue pattern as a whole is a co-ordinated wardrobe comprised of three garments; the jacket, a long sleeved knit top and knit pants. I do plan on making the other pieces, and will use the recommended Ponte to do so, but haven’t decided on colour yet. I’ll trace off the patterns this weekend and decide then.

Vogue 1663 – Three Piece Co-ordinates
Hello all and Happy New Year, Well, we made it through another year and are now at the start of the ’20s! Have you made any sewing resolutions? I haven’t really, but do plan on making some time to add some much needed basics to my wardrobe. I made this my focus a few years ago, and need to do so again. Items like knit tops, cardigans and basic dresses in solid colours provide good foundation layers in any wardrobe. I’ve mentioned before that I belong to a number of sewing groups in Facebook. Butterick Lisette B6385 – Part 1
Hello all, Last year Butterick’s Fall/Winter collection included B6385 and I bought it straight away. It is a straightforward and elegant long coat that has three collar variations, pocket flaps (something new for me) and some lovely top stitching detail.

Some New Online Friends and V9183
Hello all, I happened upon a lovely group of inspirational sewing folks via my Facebook feed earlier this summer. The focus of this group is to work through a defined list of sewing patterns with the intent of sharing tips, hints, ideas and creative comradery. A new pattern is selected each month and as the members complete theirs, they post their thoughts on fabric selection, alterations and progress pictures with the end result of showing their completed garment. You can jump in and do one challenge, or all of them – it is entirely up to you. It is always amazing to me that with social media we have such a wonderful way of connecting…

Vogue 9154 Misses Skirt Is A Winner
Hello all, I have seen a few renditions of Vogue 9154 on Sewing Pattern Review and have had the pattern for a few months now. Last weekend, as it was cold and rainy, I tucked myself in my sewing room and made this skirt with some navy wool that had been purchased last season. I truly could not be happier with the result. Here is the pattern envelope picture for Vogue 9154. I made View A.

Savage Coco Patterns – Presto Popover Top
Hello all and Happy New Year! I hope that 2016 is off to a great start for everyone. It is hard to believe that we are mid month already. My sewing buddies have been flashing many wonderful iterations of the Presto Popover Top, and not wanting to be left out, I bought the pattern…two months ago. I printed it, cut it out, found some lovely black jersey knit, laid all my pieces out, and that is where it stalled while I flew around in full on Holiday mode.
