Vogue 7975 – The Finish Line Is In Sight!
Hello all, I have been steadily working away on the hand sewing portion of my Vogue 7975. This part of the construction process has well and truly surprised me. I thought that I would hate all the hand sewing as it has never been my strength. But I must tell you, I have come out the other side with a new respect for the process. The quiet, slow, methodical practise of trimming, folding pressing and sewing each seam by hand was something I thoroughly enjoyed and am rather sad that this piece is done.

Vogue – V1663 – Misses Jacket
Hello all, I just finished the sweater/jacket portion of Vogue V1663 as part of a sew along through one of my online groups. The Vogue pattern as a whole is a co-ordinated wardrobe comprised of three garments; the jacket, a long sleeved knit top and knit pants. I do plan on making the other pieces, and will use the recommended Ponte to do so, but haven’t decided on colour yet. I’ll trace off the patterns this weekend and decide then.

Vogue 1663 – Three Piece Co-ordinates
Hello all and Happy New Year, Well, we made it through another year and are now at the start of the ’20s! Have you made any sewing resolutions? I haven’t really, but do plan on making some time to add some much needed basics to my wardrobe. I made this my focus a few years ago, and need to do so again. Items like knit tops, cardigans and basic dresses in solid colours provide good foundation layers in any wardrobe. I’ve mentioned before that I belong to a number of sewing groups in Facebook. In one, we are starting a group sew of Vogue 1663. Here is the pattern sleeve…

Vogue 7975 – Some Progress And A Reality Check
Hello all, I have made some steady progress on my Vogue 7975 and I must say to all that have made this, or any other version of the French jacket – well done you!

Vogue – V7975. Next On The Cutting Table
Ah, the little French jacket. There are so many wonderful versions that have been beautifully sewn over the years. Many fellow seamstresses have used Vogue 7975 as the basis of their creations, and have very graciously shared their insights, tips and process. Inspired, I spent an hour or so this morning, tracing out View E of V7975. I will be making this with a lovely navy and white boucle that I purchased last summer at Mood Fabrics, during a trip to NYC.

Some New Online Friends and V9183
Hello all, I happened upon a lovely group of inspirational sewing folks via my Facebook feed earlier this summer. The focus of this group is to work through a defined list of sewing patterns with the intent of sharing tips, hints, ideas and creative comradery. A new pattern is selected each month and as the members complete theirs, they post their thoughts on fabric selection, alterations and progress pictures with the end result of showing their completed garment. You can jump in and do one challenge, or all of them – it is entirely up to you. It is always amazing to me that with social media we have such a wonderful way of connecting…
