McCalls 6750 – Palmer/Pletsch – A Crisp White Shirt
Hello all, A number of years ago, I focussed my sewing on wardrobe builders; items which are considered basics and which will mix and match not only with each other, but also with what I already had in my closet. I did this for a year and really built up a solid wardrobe of very wearable items.

In Pursuit of A Winter Wardrobe – McCalls 6993
Hello all, Have you ever had a project that you know is heading south, but you keep going? Me too, more times than I care to admit. This skirt, or rather, the yoke of this skirt is one of those projects.

McCalls 7538 – Striped Puzzle Pieces Make A Great Dress
Hello all, Last month I wandered into my local Fabricland and saw a display dress that a talented member of the staff had made. It was McCalls 7538 done up in view C I believe. Here is the envelope front and line drawing:

In Progress – Spring Pops of Colour
Hello all, I have spent the last week or so head down in home decor sewing, making new table linens for a dear friend and a valance for our master bedroom window. In years past, I would dread that kind of sewing as it is just…rectangles. Without fittings, darts, pleats or tucks, the end result is a neatly folded stack of quickly completed projects which is always a very satisfying accomplishment.

McCalls 7332 – The Boyfriend Jacket
Hello all, Our weather has been teasing us with some above freezing temperatures and rain instead of snow for the last couple of weeks. In the hopes that we are looking at winter in the rear view mirror, I am turning my sewing attention to lighter weight layers. One thing in particular that I need to add are jackets for spring. A few hours of this weekend were spent making a start on that goal with McCalls 7332. I bought the pattern a few weeks ago along with some lightweight navy wool from my local Fabricland. Here is the picture from the pattern envelope:

Textile Studio Patterns Basic Top + McCalls 6996 = A Great Twinset
Hello all, A few days ago, I ventured to my local Fabricland for some buttons to complete my green linen shirt that I wrote about here. “Buttons only!”, I said to myself as I drove there. And then, “It’s like two cardigans and a top for $100”, was the justification for the cuts of fabric laying on my back seat as I drove home again. But can you blame me? Just look at this lovely knit.

McCalls 6436 – A Second Kick At The Can
Hello all, It’s October 18th and we had our first snowfall here in Southwestern Ontario. It looked pretty coming down but this is waaaayy too early. Thankfully, the ground is still too warm for it to stick around. Here is a quick snap of the backyard as it fell this morning.
